MITCHELL THEATRES EXPANDS TO KANSAS CITY METRO AREA

(Elkhart, KS)-Mitchell Theatres, LLC announced it has acquired the Belton Cinema 8 located in Belton, Missouri.  Mitchell Theatres purchased the eight-screen theatre from Dickinson Theatres.

Mitchell Theatres’ mission is “To provide a big city movie theatre experience with small town service and prices.” 

The theatre will be temporarily closed beginning on Tuesday, September 6, and reopen Friday, September 23.  During this period, the Belton Cinema 8 will be converted to 100 percent digital projection and will have four 3-D capable projectors to accommodate the increasing release of more 3-D movies.  All auditoriums will be upgraded with 7.1 Digital Surround sound, the latest in audio technology. 

Shortly after reopening, Mitchell Theatres will begin a multimillion dollar interior renovation of the complex.  After completion, movie goers will immediately notice a difference as they walk through the lobby doors.  Movie themed carpet, new tile, neon lights and flat screen TV’s playing previews of soon to be released blockbusters will be among some of the many improvements.  Along with the latest in technology, comfort will be at a premium in the theatre auditoriums.  The sloped floors will be replaced with stadium seating, 55-inch row spacing and high back rocker seats.

Along with these improvements, Mitchell Theatres will lower ticket prices for all shows and reduce concession prices.  This combination of technology, affordable prices, small town service and a family friendly environment will make the Belton Cinema 8 a popular entertainment destination for Cass County and the surrounding area.
